In December, 45 students took part in a trip to Krakow in Poland. During the trip we visited a number of sites including Auschwitz-Birkenau concentration camp, which was the largest Nazi concentration camp during WWII, where over 1 million people were murdered. We also visited the Galicia Jewish Museum where we had a talk from a Holocaust survivor, as well as a visit to the Schindler Factory museum, the Wieliczka Salt Mines, a tour of Krakow city centre, as well as some free time at the Krakow Christmas Markets and shopping centre. The students were a credit to the school. A special thanks to all the staff who came on the trip – Mr Hornby, Mrs Walton, Mrs Duckworth, Mrs Gaskell and Miss Ashcroft.
