Library

The library is fully computerised and generously stocked with a wide selection of fiction and non-fiction books. Students are able to access the computers at break and lunchtimes for homework and can access photocopying and printing services and reading based activities. 

Our Librarian is on hand to help with choosing books, printing and homework and any other assistance students will need. Students are able to borrow up to two books at any one time for two week.

 

Opening Times

The opening times* are:

Break - 11am - 11.15am

Lunch - 1.15pm - 1.45pm

Every Wednesday, the library is open exclusively to Year 7 and 8 students only.

*Please note - there may be some times when the library will need to be closed, for example during exams or school events and meetings.

 

Recommended Reading

Reading boosts imagination and creativity, is essential for success, and gives us a better understanding of the world around us. The more you read, the more you understand. In order to support students in literacy we have put together a recommended reading list for KS3 and KS4 each term which can be found below:

Literacy Events

Throughout the year students can also get involved in our literacy events which include the Scholastic Book Fair, Readathon, World Book Day and author visits.
